(Norman, OK) – Citing his record of accomplishment and common-sense, conservative values, Tom Cole today formally filed his candidacy for another term representing Oklahoma’s Fourth District.
“A significant increase in funding to our military, regulatory reform, and historic tax cuts are just some of the serious accomplishments we have been able to accomplish in the last year and a half,” said Cole. “Working together with President Trump, we have been able to achieve major policy goals that fulfill promises I’ve made to my constituents.”
“The tax cuts we passed into law are creating jobs and putting more money back into the pockets of hardworking Oklahomans. With effective use of the Congressional Review Act, we have successfully repealed countless job destroying rules issued by bureaucrats in the waning days of the Obama Administration. Our military is receiving the largest increase in funding in 15 years, which will help rebuild our military, support the vital missions of Tinker and Fort Sill, and ensure America’s global leadership in a dangerous world.”
“I am particularly proud of the work that I have been able to do as Chairman of the Labor, Health and Human Services, Education, and Related Agencies Appropriations Committee. For the third straight year, we increased funding for the National Institutes of Health to be directed towards important research initiatives on Alzheimer’s disease, pediatric cancer, and other vitally important areas. We were also able to increase help for Oklahoma schools with respect to impact aid and additional money for special needs children. As Chairman of this important committee, we have been able to prioritize our spending into areas of acute importance.”
“While I am proud of my record of accomplishment, there is important work that remains,” continued Cole. “If re-elected, I will continue to work to grow our economy, support the military, strengthen our nation’s borders, and reform our entitlement programs to place them on firm financial footing.”
“It is a great honor to represent the people of the Fourth District. I look forward to traveling the district over the coming months to earn your vote and continue the fight for our conservative ideals and principles.”
