Campaign Release
NORMAN, OK – A proven track record of defending the lives of the unborn has earned Oklahoma Fourth District Congressman Tom Cole the endorsement of the National Right to Life Political Action Committee."We commend you for your 100 percent pro-life voting record during the 110th Congress", wrote Executive Director Dr. David O'Steen. O'Steen's letter continued by thanking Congressman Cole for his work to "deny certain federal funds to Planned Parenthood" as well as "voting to defend the pro-life 'Mexico City Policy,' which prevents U.S. funds from going to organizations that promote abortions in other countries." The letter endorsing Cole concluded by saying, "your strong pro-life record has earned you the support of all voters who are concerned with the right to life and the protection of the most vulnerable members of the human family."
Congressman Cole responded to the endorsement with the following comments:
"I believe the unborn child is one of the most innocent in this country and the government has a real responsibility to protect them. Unborn children must no longer be seen by some as problems, burdens or inconveniences. We must instead help people understand that unborn children deserve a chance at life."
"I am proud to walk side by side with a group that fights to protect life. The mission and the work of National Right to Life are vitally important in this country. I appreciate the impact they make on Americans and I am very pleased to have their support. So long as I am privileged to serve in Congress, Oklahomans can count on me to defend the rights and the lives of the unborn."
